The Women’s Fund Miami-Dade is deeply appreciative of the time that you took to educate us, providing us with the foundations for becoming informed allies of the movement to free women from violence.
We are grateful for the wisdom you shared about the trials that survivors face with regard to their mental health throughout the entire process of enduring and attempting to leave their unique domestic violence situations. We were particularly moved by your highlight of the cycle of abuse that both perpetrators and victims are often subject to while also inspired by your advocacy for believing and supporting survivors on their own timetable.

I am loving this presentation – few slides and beautiful relational connection.
That’s amazing, Michael. I agree that it can take years to accept and understand, and there’s a prolonged impact, even when a person is no longer in the controlling and coercive relationship. That’s so true…it can continue for years after the relationship has ended. Thank you for an amazing presentation.

Everybody can relate to (narcissism and codependency). If it’s not you it’s somebody that you know. For sure!
I had patients texting me about their family and son-in-laws and mums and cousins and friends.
(Narcissism) is such a deeply-rooted subject…people don’t want to talk about it and they’re scared and it was an easy, friendly platform for people to listen (and) learn.
It was the way he explained it and he gave coping mechanisms, ways for people to deal with either issue (narcissism and codependency).
